Installation Preparation
Install SQL Compact
- Go to \\[SERVER]\JOScan client\SQL Compact
- Replace [SERVER] with the name of your server
- If you are on a 32 bit machine, just the x86 needs to be installed
- Replace [SERVER] with the name of your server
- If you are on a 64 bit machine, BOTH the x86 and x64 need to be installed - in that order
- Note: if already installed, you may cancel the installation
- Many machines already have the x86 installed, but not the x64
- In that case, you just need to install the x64

*** The default values for License Key AND Device Name will need to be changed.***
-
- it can be whatever you want it to be
- it doesn't need to be the name of the computer, but it can be
- this is a reference so you know which station transactions originated from
- JOScan may not work correctly if more than one station has the same Device NameDecide what you want to call this station (Device Name)
Send Scanco Support:
- Enter the License Key that we send back you, and the Device Name, and click "Accept"
Troubleshooting
- If you get an error when trying to run JOScan:
- Is .NET 3.5 installed on that computer?
- Did you copy the "JOScan.exe.config" and "JOScanDB.sdf" files into "C:\JOScan"?
- Is there a firewall on the server? If so, contact us for Inbound Rules to add
On the server, re-start the "SQL Server (JOSCAN)" service, and try again.
If all else fails, send Scanco Support the log file from "C:\JOScan\logs" .
