Manufacturing 100: Material Completions for Production Management

The "Material Completions" program efficiently creates accurate Work Ticket Transaction entries in Sage 100 using a mobile device connected to a wireless network from the Workshop floor without requiring a Sage license.

All the options explained below are on the "Material Completion" tab in the web portal at Customers.Scanco.com

NOTE: The lookup button can be displayed or removed depending on Profile settings. Click this link for additional information.

Allow Material Completion (Make To Stock) Activities: This option must be enabled before you can use the Material Completion application on the devices.

Allow WT Class Filter: When this option is enabled and Work ticket classes are entered, only Work tickets with those Work ticket classes can be processed. Multiple work ticket classes can be entered by separating them with a comma. If a work ticket number that does not have the same work ticket class as defined in the filter is entered the "Invalid Work Ticket" message will be displayed.

Default Costing Method: Set the default method to be loaded when recording Make to Stock Entries. Choices include None, Actual, Budget and Standard.

Lock Costing method: Prevents the user from changing the costing method.

Allow over completion (PM only): When enabled you have two option:

1. enter a password into the prompt and then the manager\user is required to enter that password to complete a quantity entry that is higher than the quantity required.

2. Do not enter a password into the prompt and the user will receive a warning that they are entering a quantity higher than that quantity to be completed.

Auto Send: When the “Auto-send” option is enabled, the data collected is sent to Sage after each quantity entry.

Enable Send button: When the “Auto-Send” option is disabled and the Send button is enabled, the user must press the Send button and then confirm the data can be imported into Sage.

Prompt Employee: This option adds\remove the Employee prompt.

Allow Use Pallets (Multibin Only): The Pallet prompt can be enabled or disabled. When "Pallet Tracking" is not enabled in Sage, the "Allow Use Pallet" option is not valid and you will not see that pallet prompt during data collection.

Allow Review: The Review button can be enabled \ disabled. When enabled, touching the Review button will display a list of previously collected items for the displayed work ticket.

Allow Printing: Printing requires Scanco SkyPrint which allows barcoded labels to be printed during data entry.

Material Completion (Make To Stock) by Item: This option reverses the order of the Work Order number prompt and Item prompt. When Enabled the Item prompt is before the Work Order number prompt and if the item collected is only on one Work order the Work Order prompt is automated\skipped.

Allow Take Picture: The Camera button can be enabled or disabled. When enabled, the Camera Icon will be available next to the Item prompt. If you touch the camera icon you can take an image and save the image back to Sage’s Images folder.

Allow Change Complete To (PM Only): When this option is enabled the user can touch the 'Complete To' field to open the prompt and change how the Work ticket is completed.

Allow Scrap (PM Only): Allowing Scrap Entries can be enabled or disabled. When enabled there is a Scrap button at the quantity prompts.

Allow Alternate Parent Item (PM Only): This option only requires "Material Completion (Make To Stock) by Item" to be disabled. When this option is enabled the user can touch the Item field to open the prompt and enter a different Item for that Work ticket entered.

The Lookup buttons can be removed if you do not want to allow the users to use the lookups.

The Work ticket prompt can be renamed if you enter data into the Work Ticket field labels prompt.

NOTE: The documentation below references "Items".

In your process, the word "Item" might be "Component" or "Raw Material".

All three words are the same thing, but in Sage, the wording is "Item".

How the data gets into Work Ticket Entry:

In Sage, under the "Production Management" module, in the "Mobility" folder, you will need to run the

"Manufacturing EZ Import"

Once the Manufacturing EZ Import is running, press the "Proceed" button.

Data will be imported as it is sent from mobile devices. Any data collected while the Manufacturing EZ Import was not running will be imported as soon as you press the Proceed button.

After importing data you will find the Work ticket entry with all the data that was collected on the mobile device. The Work ticket entry can be reviewed before running your Work Ticket Transaction Journal/Update.
