Data Collection Process

How the data gets into Work Ticket Entry

All the options explained below are on the "Material Issues" tab in the web portal at Customers.Scanco.com

Data collection process

  

The above option must be enabled before you can use the Material issues programming.

To access the program:

Log into Scanco Manufacturing 100

and then touch the "Material Issues" icon.

The First Prompt...

Employee prompt OR Work Ticket prompt: Depending on your Profile settings, the first prompt is either the Employee prompt or the Work Ticket prompt.


 

 

The screen on the right shows the Employee prompt enabled.

Employee prompt: Scan your badge’s barcode, key in your employee ID or lookup your employee ID. Choose an Employee from the lookup by touching the record on the lookup screen.

 


Data Entry: The entry can contain the hyphen or the entry can be made without the hyphen.

Incorrect entries are not accepted.

Work Ticket prompt: Depending on your Profile settings, the menu at the Work Ticket prompt may or may not include the Print and Send buttons. 

 

 

 

 

NOTE: the "Send" button is removed when the "Auto Send" option is enabled. The Auto Send option sends data directly after quantity entry.

Work Ticket prompt:

Scan, key in or look up the work ticket number.

 NOTE: Only "Open" work tickets will appear in the Lookup. Choose a Work Ticket from the lookup by touching the record on the lookup screen.

Incorrect entries are not accepted.

Two ways to filtering Data from the lookup screen:

If you key in part of the information for what you want to see in the lookup into the Work Ticket prompt and then press the lookup button, and...

 the programming will filter out everything except the records that match the data you entered into the prompt before you pressed the lookup button.

 If you go into the lookup and then use the Search prompt and press the Search button on the on-screen keyboard the lookup will filter out all Work tickets that do not contain the keyed-in information.

Item Number Prompt: Scan, key in or look up the item number of the component to build. Choose an Item from the lookup by touching the record on the lookup screen. 


Invalid items are not accepted.

 

Item Number Prompt: Depending on your Profile settings, the menu at the Item Number prompt may or may not include the Print, Send, Review and Inventory buttons.

The Print button can be enabled \ disabled. 

 

 When enabled and the "Print" button pressed, the user must choose the printing method.

Auto The quantity collected at the Quantity prompt will be used at the number of labels to be printed. This method turns the Print button green.

Prompt The user will key in the number of labels for each entry. This method turns the Print button green.

Manual Once this option is chosen the user must press the print button after quantity entry whenever a label is required. This method turns the Print button gray.

The Manual and Prompt Me method require numeric entry for the number of labels to be printed.

The Review button can be enabled \ disabled.

 When enabled, touching the Review button will display a list of previously collected items for the displayed work ticket.

Choosing an item from the list on the first screen below will display the details about that item as shown on the second screen.


The menu includes a "Print" button for printing labels for the displayed item and a "Delete" button to remove the displayed item.

The "Inventory" button can be enabled \ disabled.

When enabled, then the Inventory button will be available. You can select an item from Inventory that was not on the original Work Ticket. 

 

When the Certified Material Issue option has a Prefix the user will be prompted to scan the actual item and then scan a barcode on a printout where the barcode contains the Prefix you have set up and the item number. 

 In my example, I am scanning item 971 and then I must scan a barcode that contains 8971 in order to pass validation. The Prefix can be up to 15 characters.

Two ways to filtering Data from the lookup screen:

If you go into the lookup and then use the Search prompt and press the Search button on the on-screen keyboard the lookup will filter out all Work tickets that do not contain the keyed-in information.

 Another option is to key in part of the information for what you want to see in the lookup into the Item number prompt and then press the lookup button the programming will filter out everything except the records that match the data you entered into the prompt before you pressed the lookup button.

 

The Camera button can be enabled \ disabled. When enabled, the Camera Icon will be available next to the Item Number prompt. If you touch the camera icon you can take an image and save the image onto the Sage server in this folder "C:\Sage\Sage 100 Standard\MAS90\Images\MFG". MFG is the company code, use your Sage code in place of MFG to locate the images.

 The first time you press the Camera icon you are required to allow access, press OK to proceed. 

The device's camera application is used to take the image, press the "photo" button to proceed.

After taking your picture, the "Retake" and "Use Photo" buttons appear, choosing Use Photo will save the image to the Sage server.

After Item entry: The unit of measure (UOM) and Warehouse where the item is located will appear for the selected work ticket.

 

The Warehouse prompt can be enabled \ disabled. When "Allow multiple Warehouses" is enabled, the program will not stop at the warehouse but users can touch the Warehouse field to open the prompt and change the Warehouse where the Component is being issued from. 

Bin Prompt: Requires Scanco Multibin.

 

The Bin prompt will pre-fill with the items "Primary" bin location. You can press Enter to accept the Primary bin or change the bin by scanning, keying in or using the lookup.

 Invalid bins are not accepted.

Pressing the Bin lookup will show all bins where the item is located in the warehouse shown above the bin prompt. 

Choose a bin from the lookup by touching the record on the lookup screen.

Pallet Prompt: Requires Scanco Multibin and License Plating. 

The Pallet prompt can be enabled \ disabled. 

   

When enabled, you can scan, key in or look up Pallet numbers. This process will issue items from the pallet entered. This prompt will accept blank entry if you are not issuing items from a pallet.

When "Pallet Tracking" is not enabled in Sage, the "Allow Use Pallet" option is not valid and you will not see that pallet prompt during data collection.

Quantity Entry prompt: If the item collected is not Lot controlled or Serialized then you must enter a quantity. The Keyboard and Enter buttons are accessible on the menu when needed. 

 Invalid entries are not accepted.

 Allowing entry of a quantity higher than the remaining quantity can be enabled \ disabled.

When disabled, you cannot exceed the required quantity.

When enabled, the user will need to confirm the quantity by pressing Yes.

The "Qty remaining" field can be enabled \ disabled. 

When disabled, the "Qty remaining" field is removed.

 When enabled, the "Qty remaining" field is displayed.

 Allowing Negative quantity entries can be enabled \ disabled.

When disabled, negative value entries at the quantity prompt are not accepted.

 When enabled, the user can enter a negative value at the quantity prompt.

 Lot prompt for Lot controlled Items: The user will be required to enter Lot numbers and quantity for that lot number. 

  Invalid Lot number will not be accepted. Quantity entries follow the same rules as listed above.

 The Lot lookup is accessible on the menu when needed. The lookup screen will show all Lot numbers in the Warehouse + Bin that was collected. 

Choose a lot from the lookup by touching the record on the lookup screen. 

Serial prompt for Serialized Items: The user will be required to enter serial numbers when the item being issued is serialized.  

The Serial lookup is accessible on the menu when needed. The lookup screen will show all Serial numbers in the Warehouse + Bin that was collected. 

Choose a Serial number from the lookup by touching the record on the lookup screen. Invalid Serial number will not be accepted.

When the "Enable Send button" option is enabled, the user MUST press the "Send" button to submit the collected data. After pressing Send the user must confirm they want to submit the data they have collected. After the send is complete the Success message will be displayed and the user can press OK or Results. 

 

If the Results show the Sage Import is not running, please start the Import.
