Warehouse 100: Picking for Invoices

Directed picking for items that are invoiced. This programming requires Scanco Multibin.

If your process involves invoicing items before they are picked or if you require picked items to be validated against an Invoice, then this programming will fit your process.

The data is written into the Barcode history tables after the user finishes the data collection process. Those tables can be used for reports just like all other Sage tables. The details about the tables are at the end of this article.

 

Process: Create a Sales Order and Invoice that Sales Order. 

Invoicing then picking: "Picking for Invoices" direct the user to multiple bins and validate the items and quantities.

Validating against an Invoice after the Items have been staged in a single bin: Use "Picking for Invoices" to validate the items and quantities at the staging bin.

Press the Picking... Icon Press the Invoice Picking icon.
The Warehouse prompt will pre-fill with the user's default warehouse. Press Enter to accept that warehouse or Key in a valid warehouse using the on-screen keyboard.
The menu includes the Lookup button. A warehouse can be chosen by touching the record on the screen.
  Invalid Entries are not accepted.
The invoice prompt will only accept "currently invoiced" orders. You can scan into the prompt or Key in a valid invoice number using the on-screen keyboard.

After entering the first invoice the "Inv. Added" field will display 1. After entering the second invoice the "Inv. Added" field will display 2.
If you need to review or edit the list of invoices collected before you start picking you can touch the "Invoice List" button on the menu. To remove an invoice, touch the record on the screen and it will be removed. Otherwise, you can press cancel to move back the invoice prompt.

To start the directed picking process, press the "Start Pick" button on the menu.

At the Item prompt, you will see the bin location that is to be picked, go to that bin and scan the item displayed, or...
Key in a valid Item code using the on-screen keyboard. The menu includes the "Skip" button if you cannot collect the item that is displayed.
Invalid Entries are not accepted. Invalid Entries are not accepted.
The menu includes the "Scan Each" button. Pressing "Yes" will force the user to scan the item barcode on every item being collected.
This screen shows the "Scan Each" button is enabled. You can press it again to disable the Scan Each function. Pressing "Yes" will return to collecting Item then the total quantity being picked.
The menu shows the "Print" button. The user must choose the method for printing.
The "Prompt me" and "Manual" printing methods require the user to enter the number of labels to be printed. The menu shows the "Print" button enabled. You can press it again to disable printing.
At the Quantity prompt, you can scan a barcode if you have one OR use the on-screen keyboard and press "Done". The menu at the Quantity prompt allows skipping the item displayed and has the Enter and Keyboard buttons.

After the quantity is collected the programming will:

1. Display the next item to be collected. The screen on the right shows the item has a quantity ordered 13 and 2 have been collected leaving 11 to be collected.

2. Prompt the user to send the collected data once the last item plus quantity to be picked has been completed, this process is explained later in this article.

The menu shows the "Review" button. The "Review" presents a list of Invoices that have been collected. Choose one by touching the record on the screen.
The "Review" presents a list of items that have been collected. Choose one by touching the record on the screen. The item that has been chosen is displayed.
The menu shows the "Lookup" to choose another item, "Print" to print labels, "Delete This" to remove the record displayed, and "Delete Invoice" to remove all items for the Invoice displayed. "Delete This" displays a confirmation message that the data has been removed.
"Delete Invoice" displays a confirmation message that the user must answer before all data is removed. Then displays a confirmation message that the data has been removed.
The menu shows the "Send" button. This message is presented when the user presses the "Send" button OR when all items have been collected. Pressing "Yes" is the best option. Pressing "No" allows the user to process additional Invoices and then send all the data in bulk.
This message is warning the user that they have not completed all Items. Pressing "Yes" moves forward with submitting and pressing "No" returns to the data collection process to allow completion. This message is confirming the data has been sent to the Barcode History tables.

You can create a report that checks the history tables for transactions that have passed thru the imports:
